Action will be taken against agitators: Mhetre

Nashik, Aug 20 (UNI) Maharadhtra minister of State for Home Siddharam Mhetre today warned that strict action would be taken against agitators, whether belonging to the ruling party or the opposition.

Mr Mhetre was replying to a query by reporters regarding the agitation by RPI activists in Mumbai, Aurangabad and other places.

Republican Party of India (A) activists had attacked the office of TV channel 'Colors' in Mumbai yesterday, to protest the alleged non-inclusion of RPI president Ramdas Athawle from the show 'Big Boss', hosted by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

The agitations was held in other parts of the state also, where effigies of Shilpa Shetty were burnt.

Mr Mhetre was on tour of the district today and held a meeting of the city and district police officials.

Meanwhile, on the arrest of two Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists in Pune yesterday, he denied any comment as the investigation was in the preliminary stages.
