Somnath Temple in Gujarat to regain its lost glory

Gujarat, August 19, 2008 : The historic temple of Somnath in Gujarat is all set to become a 'golden temple' by 2010.

The Sri Somnath temple Trust is carving and gold plating the Sabha Mandapor the hall of gathering for the devotees and has commenced work on the Sabha Mantap. Besides, the outer structure of the temple is also being painted with fungus resistant paint to allow the porous Bella stones, which make up the structure, to breathe.
