Twelve boys arrested for stealing Rs 12 lakh

Aizawl, Aug 19(UNI) Twelve boys were arrested from south Mizoram yesterday for stealing Rs 12 lakh, about two weeks ago.

According to police, three boys entered the house of Rozika at Lawngtlai town on July 28.

They first took away a bundle of notes amounting Rs 1,20,000.

After spending it they again entered the house on August 7 and stole the remaining amount, police added.

The owner came to know about the theft in the morning and filed an FIR in the Lawngtlai police station.

When the police nabbed them, the boys-- aged between 10 to 18 years, had already spent most of the money in buying bicycles, clothes, mobile phones, car tapes and liquor, police said.
