'Pak constitution of 1973 to be restored back'
Islamabad, Aug 19: A senior PML-N leader has said that all controversial amendments made to the constitution by former President Pervez Musharraf will be scrapped soon. PML-N Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal said that the 1973 Constitution would be restored in its original form, and that Musharraf's unconstitutional acts on Nov 3, 2007, would be removed.
Musharraf was responsible for all the crises that the country was facing, and the people had rejected his policies during the February 18 elections, the sources quoted Iqbal as saying. The PML-N leader said that the Pakistani currency had gained strength and the country's stock markets had improved soon after Musharraf's resignation, adding that now the country's economy would grow.
