Habib Miyan, the oldest man no more

Jaipur, Aug 19: Habib Miyan (139), who is believed to be the oldest man, passed away on Tuesday, Aug 19 early morning. Miyan, the oldest man in the Limca Book of Records, suddenly developed vomitting and diarrheea on Monday, Aug 18. He could not be taken to hospital and died around 0300 hrs.

Fondly remembered by relatives and people as a humble and and sensitive person, Habib refused to celebrate his birthday this year to mourn the huge loss of lives in Jaipur serial blasts on May 13. Some of the NGOs wanted to celebrate his birthday on May 20, but he had refused. ''I am very much moved by the blasts that have left so many people dead. I have never seen such a devastation in the Pink City in my life,'' he is believed to have said.
