'No work no pay' for striking power employees
Chandigarh, Aug 19 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration would enforce the principle of "No work No Pay" against the disgruntled members of UT Power Men Union, who have given a call of pen down, tool down strike tomorrow.
"The Chandigarh Administration has always been sympathetic to the genuine demands of the electricity employees and there is no cause for any strike by the employees," an offical spokesman said.
The defaulting employees will also be liable for other disciplinary action under ESMA, he said.
"Necessary arrangements for maintaining the continuity of power supply though has been made but chances of failure of power supply due to any untoward incident cannot be ruled out. The electricity consumers of UT are therefore requested to co-operate with the Administration." He said that the electricity bills with last date of payment on August 20 will be extended to the next working day i.e. August 21 in the event of strike.
