HC orders CBI probe into Kisan Vikas Patra theft from Rlys
Patna, Aug 19 (UNI) Patna High Court today ordered a CBI probe into the theft of Kisan Vikas Patras and National Saving Certificates (NSCs) from a goods train parked at Patna Junction on February 23, 1998.
The single bench judge, Shyam Kishore Sharma, passed the order after hearing a criminal writ filed by one Laxman Dixit.
The counsel of the petitioner said the case should be inquired by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) but the latter informed its inability to investigate the matter.
''The RPF can not properly inquire into the case and a central investigative agency should be given the responsibility to investigate into the matter'', the counsel of the Railways had prayed.
It also submitted before the court that Kisan Vikas Patras and NSC were being used as guarantee in various banks in different parts of the country.
