Central assistance of Rs 25 crore to CAPART
New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) The Ministry of Rural Development has granted Rs 25 crore to the Council for Advancement of People's Action and Rural Technology (CAPART) as Grant-in-Aid towards first instalment during the current financial year (2008-09).
The amount being released is under Central Sector Scheme for 'Assistance to CAPART' and will be subject to various conditions which include an Audited Statement of Accounts showing the expenditure incurred during 2008-09. It has to be submitted to the Government after the close of financial year but not later than July 1, 2009 together with a certificate from the Auditors of CAPART to the effect that the Grants-in-Aid has been used for the specified purpose.
CAPART will also submit to the M/o Rural Development the detailed quarterly report regarding the progress and the manner of utilisation of these funds and any other information relevant to the implementation of the programme as and when required. The second instalment of funds will be released only after the receipt of the audit report for 2007-08.
