ULFA body identified

Guwahati, Aug 18 (UNI) The police today identified the body of a dreaded ULFA militant who was shot dead at an encounter near Mirza on the outskirts of the city.

According to an official source, the militant was identified as one Ramen Rajbongshi, son of Mukund of Rajbongsi of Nalbari area. The police informed that he had joined ULFA on April 14, 2002.

He was killed on Saturday night, said the source.

He was one of the dreaded ULFA leaders active in the region and was hand in several extortion cases.
