TN CM's gesture to handicapped employees
Chennai, Aug 18 (UNI) In a gesture of goodwill, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today ordered that visually and physically handicapped government servants could leave 15 minutes before office hours end in the evening, to get back home with ease.
The Chief Minister gave the special permission after it was brought to his notice that the disabled people, while returning home after office hours, undergo the ordeal of getting caught in the crowded buses, an official release said here.
To ensure that they travel freely and reach home on time, the Chief Minister ordered that they could leave their work places 15 minutes before office hours, the release added.
