Thakre meets Sonia
New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Manikrao Thakre, who was nominated to the post yesterday, today met party president Sonia Gandhi and pledged to end groupism in the state unit ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due early next year.
"My major effort would be to strengthen the organisation from top to the grassroots-level," he told mediapersons after his meeting with Ms Gandhi.
He said he would use his new position to bring all the Congressmen together and fight the Lok Sabha elections in unison and effectively.
