South-West monsoon weak in Karnataka

Bangalore, Aug 18 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

South-West monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall (CM): Anekal, Nelamangala, Huliyurdurga 4 each; Siddapura 3; Karkala, Chincholi, Humchadakatte, Magadi Ramanagara, Channaptna, Kanakapura 2 each; Subramanya, Sulya, Kollur, Gerusoppa, Savanur, , Sedam, Jeevargi, Shahapur, Virajpet, Linganamakki, Hosanagar, Kammardi, Kopa, Sravanabelgola, Bangle City, Bangalore AP, Harihara, Holalkere, Kunigal 1 each.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of coastal Karnataka and over Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka; at a few places over remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night.
