Privileges committee meeting postponed
Puducherry, Aug 18 (UNI) The privileges committee meeting of the territorial Assembly, scheduled to be convened here tomorrow, has been postponed indefinitely.
According to an official release here today, Mr A V Sreedharan, Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Committee, said the meeting would be held after finalising a fresh date.
It may be recalled that some Legislators, who were opposing certain remarks against the council of ministers allegedly made by the then Chief Secretary Rakesh Bihari, had lodged a complaint with the Speaker R Radhakrishnan.
Later, the Speaker had referred the matter to the previlege committee.
Meanwhile, two IPS officers, who participated in the review meeting in which Mr Bihari reportedly had made the comments, were out of town.
However, Mr Bihari was transferred to New Delhi.
