One killed, some trapped as building collapses
Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) A 20-year-old girl was killed when a one-storeyed building collapsed at Byculla in South Central Mumbai today.
The sources in the disaster control of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said one-storeyed 'Shaif' building came crashing down at around 0500 hrs near E-ward of BMC office at Byculla.
The girl was rescued from under the debris by firebrigade personnel and was admitted to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to the injuries, sources added.
During the last six days, three buildings collapsed in the city due to the incessant rainfall. Among them, two collapsed in South Central Mumbai, claiming at least 22 lives, while the third collapsed at Borivali in Mumbai North. But there was no casualty as the building will in the endangered list and people were envicted.
