MCX metals, energy composite index up

Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) The composite index of metals and energy was up by 0.60 per cent at 2,702.65 points, at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Gold February 09 contract was up by 0.98 per cent to Rs 11,601 per 10 grams, while gold April 09 contract was down by 1.53 per cent to Rs 11,683 per 10 gms.

Aluminium October 08 contract was up by 2.29 per cent to Rs 122.80 per kg, copper August 08 contract by 0.83 per cent to Rs 317.75 per kg and lead September 08 contract by 2.36 per cent to Rs 75.80 per kg, a MCX release said here.

Crude oil November 08 contract rose by 0.95 per cent to Rs 5,000 per tonne.

Cardamom September 08 contract was up by 0.93 per cent to Rs 676.50 per kg, coriander October 08 contract by 0.42 per cent to Rs 9610 per quintal, turmeric September 09 contract by 3.73 per cent to Rs 4,036 per quintal, the release added.
