Manipur under atrocities since 1958: AFSPA
New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) The Manipur Students' Association, Delhi (MSAD) today staged a silent protest march against the imposition of the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA), in Manipur, 50-years-ago.
The protesters, mostly volunteers of the Association raised slogans saying, ''We don't want AFSPA and so far Parliament has failed to provide democratic rights to the people of Manipur.'' The demonstrators also criticised the Centre for carrying out the atrocities against the people of the State for the past 50 years, under the AFSPA.
The rally was addressed by N Manishwar Singh, General Secretary MSAD.
