Man killed, three injured over petty land dispute

Sangrur, Aug 18 (UNI) A man was battered to death and three others were seriously injured when two brothers attacked them today over a protracted feud over a small piece of land in Bijalpur village in this district.

Madan Lal, 38, died on the spot and his father Rajwardhan and two other relatives, sustained injuries when Sohan Lal and Nand Lal allegedly attacked them with batons this morning.

According to police, the two families were having a long-pending dispute over a land measuring about two bighas.

A case has been registered under sections 302, 323, 324 and 34 against the two brothers, who were absconding.
