Haryana forms contingency plan for Aug 20 strike
Chandigarh, Aug 18 (UNI) In view of strike call for August 20 given by the Sarv Karamchari Sangh and some other trade unions, the Haryana government has asked various departments to prepare contingency plans so that the office functioning and essential services do not suffer.
The directive has been issued to heads of various departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and all the Managing Directors/Chief Administrators of the Boards and Corporations in the state, an official spokesman said today.
They had also been asked to deal firmly with the persons who are found indulging in any kind of disruption of work.
The State government had termed the strike call illegitimate, ''as the issues on which the call has been given do not warrant such a course of action on the part of the employees,'' the spokesman said.
