Gujarat Police arrest two doctors from K'taka
Bangalore, Aug 18 (UNI) The Gujarat police, who arrived here three-days ago looking for some suspected SIMI operatives in the wake of serial blasts in Ahmedabad, have taken into custody two doctors, suspected to have links with the banned outfit SIMI, in the city.
Police sources said the team had visited a private medical college here and arrested a dentist, who was practicing in the city, and a doctor, who was running a private clinic in the busy city centre.
However, their identities were not immediately known. The district police claimed that they were not aware of the incident.
Hafiz alias Adnan, a key SIMI operative hailing from the city, was arrested by the state police earlier.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya today said a police team from the state had left for Gujarat to conduct inquiries on the whereabouts of one of the nine SIMI activists arrested in that state for their alleged involvement in the recent Ahmedabad blasts.
