Goan assembly hails Abhinav Bindra

Panaji, Aug 18 (UNI) Goa legislative assembly, on the opening day of the monsoon session today, unanimously adopted a resolution congratulating ace shooter Abhinav Bindra for creating history by winning the first individual gold medal at the ongoing Beijing Olympics and making the nation proud.

Moving the motion after question hour, chief minister Digambar Kamat said he would name the shooting range to be set up for upcoming 2011 National games in Goa after Bindra.

Cutting across party lines, the members including sports minister Manohar Azgaonkar and speaker Pratapsingh Rane hailed Bindra's victory.
