Funding pattern for ARWSP amended in NE, J
Shillong, Aug 18 (UNI) The Union Rural Development Ministry has amended the funding pattern for the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) in the northeastern states and Jammu and Kashmir.
An official statement said the Centre would fund 90 per cent in such projects in the states, while the rest would be borne by the states. However, the Centre-state funding pattern for other states in this regard would be 50:50.
''The allocation criteria to the states are now based on factors like rural population (2001 census), number of Drought Prone Areas Programme (DPAP), Desert Development Programme (DDP) blocks and number of village panchayat managing their rural water supply programmes,'' the statement said.
