Former MP resigns from TDP
Kakinada, Aug 18 (UNI) Former TDP MP and former President of the party's Mahila wing Vanga Geeta today resigned from the party, expressing her anguish over the functioning of the party.
Addressing a press conference here, she accused the present TDP leadership of ignoring the real party workers. Geeta was in tears while recalling her association with the party from its inception.
''I had joined the TDP as a student of intermediate, inspired by NTR and strived for the party's development in various capacities with committmet and dedication. Despite being humiliated and discrimination, I continued in the party, but now I am forced to quit as all my suggestions to set right the lapses are ignored by Party leader Chandrababu Naidu. The party is in a deplorable state and it has achieved the unique history of dislodging its own founder,'' she added.
Though she did not disclose her political future, it was believed that she would join megastar Chiranjeevi's party soon.
Former Kakinada Agricultural Market Committee Chairman ''Vungarala'' Venkateswera Rao, who was also present in the press conference, also tendered his resignation to join the Chiranjeevi's party.
