Forest employees' assn plea

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 18 (UNI) The local unit of the Tamil Nadu Forest Staff Association here urged the State Government to fix the pay scale for uniformed service personnel of the department on a par with the Police Department.

In a statement today, Association District President P Mayavelu said the department had about 6,500 uniformed personnel in various cadre on a meagre time payscale.

He claimed the uniformed service personnel of the department had been denied their due share in recommendations of the Pay Commission in the past leading to a disparity in the pay structure compared with that of the police personnel.
