Flood water inundates several villages in Samastipur
Samastipur, Aug 18 (UNI) At least 20 villages of Mohanpur, Patori and Mohaddinagar blocks in the district have been inundated, while the water level of the Ganga was rising continuously following heavy downpour in the area.
Official sources said here today that the river water flowing in the low-lying areas had damaged standing crops.
The communication of the affected villages with the district headquarters had totally been snapped.
The Noon and Baya rivers in the area were also maintaining rising trends, sources said adding several houses in Chaksaho, Darba and Jorpur villages had been submerged by the flood water.
Meanwhile, RJD MLA Ramchandra Singh Nishab had demanded to provide boats to the affected villages from the local administration.
