Dalit leader to join Chiranjeevi's party

Hyderabad, Aug 18: Veteran Dalit movement leader and writer Katti Padma Rao today announced his decision to join Chiranjeevi's party, which would be formally launched on August 26 at a public meeting in Tirupati.

Mr Rao, along with his associates, met the actor-politician at his new party office and assured support to him in future.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said the new political party would render justice to those from Backward Communities, who were ''denied'' tickets by all other political parties.

Majority of the MLAs, since Independence, belonged to Forward Castes, he alleged.
