70-year-old died after unknown vehicle hits him
New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) A 70-year-old man died after an unidentified speeding vehicle hit him near India Gate in New Delhi district early this morning.
Dr G R Sunder, working as a Registrar at the renowned Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, died after the vehicle hit him at about 0530 hrs while he was crossing the road, according to sources.
Dr Sunder was on his morning walk to India Gate when the accident took place near Kasturba Gandhi crossing.
He had joined BVB in 1990 and lived inside its campus.
A passer-by called his driver from his mobile who informed the police. He said it was a call centre cab.
Police said it was a case of hit-n-run as the vehicle was yet to be identified.
Mr Sunder is survived by his wife and two sons, both married.
