2 women commit suicide in Kanpur

Kanpur, Aug 18: Two married women commited suicide in separate areas of the city today.

According to police, Vijay Laxmi (35) shot self at point blank range under Babupurwa police circle. The critically wounded succumbed on way to hospital.

The woman was suffering from depression for the past few days and she used her brother's gun in the crime, police added.

In another case, Anju (25) set self afire at Kurmi Khera village in Chaubepur area. The reason behind her extreme step was yet to be known.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortems.
