2 more held in fake currency case
Kozhikode, Aug 18 (UNI) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two more people, including a Customs employee, in connection with the seizure of 72.5 lakh fake Indian currency at Karippur International Airport, near here, on August 16.
DRI sources said Abdul Kareem (40), a peon in the Customs Department, and Karamamkandath Usman (42) were arrested last night for conniving with the passenger, who carried the counterfeit notes.
The passenger Mohammed Alshabi (25), who arrived at the airport from Ras-al-Khaimah in an RAK Airways flight, and three of his accomplices, who came to receive him, were arrested earlier.
