VCK Chief Thol Thirumavalavan turns 47

Chennai, Aug 17: Dalit leader and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) President Thol Thirumavalavan turned 47 on Sunday, Aug 17.

Mr Thirumavalavan, whose party is a constituent of the DMK-led DPA in Tamil Nadu, called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and sought his blessings.

The Dalit leader drove down to Mr Karunanidhi's Gopalapuram residence and sought his blessings by presenting him a shawl.

The Chief Minister greeted him on the occasion.

Later, Mr Thirumavalavan went to the memorial of Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, and paid homage.

The VCK organised a public meeting at Island Grounds to mark the occasion.
