MP Police ready to hand over SIMI leader to Guj
Bhopal, Aug 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Police will hand over the banned Students Islamic Movement of India's leader Safdar Nagori to Gujarat Police if the latter makes such a demand in connection with the July 26 serial blasts in the neighbouring state.
''Gujarat Police is yet to share details regarding the Ahmedabad explosions. However, my counterpart there has said that a team will soon arrive in this state. We will fully cooperate with Gujarat Police,'' Madhya Pradesh Director-General of Police S K Raut told UNI here today.
Gujarat DGP P C Pande yesterday revealed a SIMI hand behind the explosions. Nagori is incarcerated in this state and had trained terrorists. He and about two dozen SIMI activists were arrested, during a crackdown, at Indore and surrounding areas some months back.
''A Madhya Pradesh Police team left for Gujarat yesterday,'' Mr Raut said while adding that Gujarat Police was yet to share details about its claim that explosives used in the blasts were brought from this state.
