Greater Noida firing: Cop transferred

Greater Noida, Aug 17: Circle Officer, Greater Noida, Kuldip Singh was on Sunday, Aug 17 removed from his post and Triveni Singh, who was earlier with the STF, Lucknow, has been assigned the post, district SSP R K Chaturvedi said.

The step is seen as a sequel to the agitation here in which four farmers were killed in police firing. An all party condolence meeting for those killed in the agitation was, meanwhile, held at the Community Centre in Chhalera village here. Several leaders, who took part in the meeting, vehemently decried the killing of the farmers in the agitation. Four farmers were killed on August 13 in a violent agitation when they were demanding enhanced compensation for their land from the UP government.
