Sandalwood worth crores seized, two arrested
Guwahati, Aug 16 (UNI) Police today seized around 13 quintals of sandalwood from a truck and arrested two persons in Assam's Golaghat district.
The sandalwood cache, covered with lemons, was being illegally ferried from Delhi to Moreh in Manipur on a truck, police said.
The truck was intercepted at the Lahorijan checkpoint under Bokajan Police Station.
The seized sandalwood, estimated at over Rs 13 crore, was believed to be a part of a larger consignment.
