Raksha Bandhan celebration on Indian border

Wagah, Aug.16: Rakhsha Bandhan was observed on Saturday, Aug 16 morning with young girls from different schools and colleges tying Rakhis on the wrists of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. Dancers also performed the traditional folk dance of Gidda. Girls also distributed sweets and fruits. Talking to sources, Shifali a student of the Ram Ashram School, said: “We are here at border to tie rakhis on the hands of soldiers and to tell them that the country has not forgotten their brave deeds and remembers them on every occasion".

Nagender, a BSF soldier, said, "It is a pleasure for all of us here at border that sisters from various parts of nation arrive to tie Rakhis. I got very emotional on Saturday, Aug 16."

Besides BSF and army personals, jawans of CRPF, ITBP, Punjab poice were also present on the occasion.
