Prevent bandh culture in Arunachal; NES

Itanagar, Aug 16 (UNI) The Nyishi Elite Society (NES), an umbrella organization of Nyishi community in Arunachal Pradesh today urged the state government to take necessary steps to do away with the bandh culture in the state.

Talking to media persons here NES president Bengia Tolum said that the state government should take initiative to check frequent bandh calls given by various organisation as it impedes developmental activities.

Though peace is the pre-requisite for overall development, frequent bandh calls would retard developmental activities, he said adding economic growth is the need of the hour and private investors would not be attracted if the bandh culture continues in the state.

NES, further appealed the people to maintain social harmony and tranquility for peaceful co-existence.

Referring to the boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Mr Tolum suggested that the state government should pass a resolution in this regard in the forthcoming assembly session to demarcate Rajgarh Ali as the boundary for both the states which would solve the decade-old imbroglio.
