IG Vashist gets President's Police Medal
Chandigarh, Aug 16 (UNI) Haryana Inspector General of Police (Faridabad Range) S N Vashist has been awarded the President Police Medal for his distinguished services in the Police Department.
Giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that Mr Vashist had joined Indian Police Service (IPS) in the year 1981. He served in various capacities in Police Department.
He remained as Superintendent Police of district Jind, Kurukshetra, Narnaul, Gurgaon and Bhiwani. During his tenure as SP Kurukshetra, he succeeded in arresting seven terrorists. He also served in the Intelligence Bureau.
Mr Vashist was also honoured with Police Medal on the occasion of Republic Day in the year 1999. He was promoted to the post of IGP in the year 2003 and thereafter, posted as Director, Haryana Police Academy at Madhuban.
