Congress to oppose LF's calls industrial strike: Dasmunshi
Kolkata, Aug 16 (UNI) West Bengal Pradesh Congress president Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi today condenmed the Left unions sponsored industrial strike on August 20, the day coinciding with birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
He called upon the partymen and sympathisers to remember the contribution of late Prime Minister and celebrate the day by holding rallies and social programmes.
" When the country was safe and things going all right, the strike would rather confuse the countrymen" Mr Dasmunshi also the Information and Broadcasting Minister, said in a statement here.
He said the Youth Congress would mark the day by organising blood donation camps and other social activities across the state.
Mr Dasmunshi said the Left by calling the industrial strike across the country was maintaining a double standard politics.
He also told partymen to organise rallies in support of India's nuclear deal as the CPI(M) was trying to mislead the people against the nuke deal.
He said the CPI(M) was trying stall the development of the country.
