3 sent to jail in kidney purchase case in UP
Faizabad, Aug 16 (UNI) Police today sent to jail three people in a kidney purchase case here.
According to Deputy superintendent of police Rajesh Pandey, driven by abject poverty, one David had sold his kidney to one Usha Srivastava at a price of Rs 5 lakh.
However, he was only paid Rs one lakh over which he went to police and lodged an FIR.
Later, it was learnt that David had sold his kidney for his daughter's marriage to Ms Srivastava, who had purchased it for her ailing son.
After thorough investigation, police arrested the trio, he added.
