3 more succumb to rain-related diseases
Mumbai, Aug 16 (UNI) Three more people succumbed to rain-related diseases in the city today, taking the death toll to 101 since the onset of monsoon this year.
Of the three people who died today, two died due to malaria in KEM hospital and one due to leptospirosis in Bhagwati hospital, said civic health officials.
Yesterday, three pepole succumbed to malaria, two in KEM hospital and one in Nair hospital, and one to leptospirosis in Bhagwati hospital.
The civic official said malaria had been the major killer with 53 people succumbing to the disease this season.
In the last 24 hours, 86 people were admitted for fever, 37 for malaria, two for dengue and three for leptospirosis in the various civic-run hospitals in the metropolis, the official added.
