13 killed in Kurram Agency clashes

Parachanar (Pakistan), Aug. 16 : Fresh violence in Kurram Agency killed 13 including 11 extremists and left 15 wounded.

According to The News, heavy and automatic weapons were used in the clashes in different areas of Kurram Agency.

Injured were shifted to Alizai, Sada, Shishu and Parachanar.

Fighting is spreading to more areas.

Closure of Parachanar-Peshawar highway since last 10 months has weighed down the population of 5, 00,000 in Parachanar, leading to acute shortage of oil, medicines and kitchen items. The people of the area have welcomed the decision of interior minister to take action against the extremists in Kurram agency.

A total of 168 people have been killed and 250 have been injured in the clashes between two rival groups.
