Thousands of devotees throng temple

Vijayawada, Aug 15 (UNI) As many as 35,000 devotees today thronged the famous Goddess Kanakadurga temple atop Indrakeeladri hill, near here, to worship the deity on the occasion of the ''Shravan Sukravaram.'' According to temple sources here, Union Minister of State for Human Resources D Purandheswari and local MLA V Radhakrishna visited the temple and performed the pooja.

The authorities made elaborate arrangements for darshan in the wake of recent anonymous bomb threats in places of worship, the sources added.
