Meghalaya determined to resolve dispute with Assam
Shillong, Aug 15 (UNI) With the Meghalaya-Assam border figuring prominently in the agenda of the present coalition Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) government, Chief Minister Dr Donkupar Roy today reiterated his government's determination to resolve this long pending issue.
''Efforts have been made by both the state governments to find an amicable solution to resolve their differences,'' he said, adding that ''a mechanism has been put in place for taking the initiative forward.'' In his address marking the 61st India's Independence Day at the Jawaharalal Nehru Sports Complex here, where he earlier unfurled the tricolour, Dr Roy expressed keen desire to maintain peace, amity and harmony along the border.
