Heavy rains in Northern states

Pune, Aug 15 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Andaman and Nicobar, and at a few places in Vidarbha, Gujarat state, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

The south-west monsoon has been vigorous in Orissa and active in Assam, Meghalaya, Haryana, Gujarat Region, Konkan, Goa, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Kerala. It has been subdued in Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in south interior Karnataka and at many places in Orissa and Jharkhand. Heavy rains have occurred at most places in coastal Karnataka, and at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat Region and at a few places in Madhya Maharashtra.

Rain or thunershowers have occurred at most places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Ganmgetic West Bengal, east Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar. They have also occurred at a few places in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Laksahdweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
