Air India to operate daily flights from Sharjah

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 15 (UNI) Air India will be operating flights from Sharjah to Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirapalli and Chennai on all days of the week, beginning August 21.

An Air India statement said it increased the frequency of Chennai-Tiruchirapalli-Thiruvananthapuram-Sharjah flights making it a daily flight from March 30.

However, the return flights (IC 968) were skipping Tiruchirapalli on three days a week owing to the manpower shortage in the Central Industrial Security Force unit at the airport here.

With the recent augmentation of strength of the CISF unit, the airline has made the flights a daily service in the return direction too.

The flights will arrive at Tiruchirapalli at 0410 hrs from Sharjah/Thiruvananthapuram and leave for Chennai at 0500 hrs, it added.
