WCCB seizes three leopard skins in Uttarakhand
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) has seized three leopard skins at Dehradun in Uttarakhand.
Two people arrested yesterday in this connection were residents of Bhagawat and Pheoni villages of Uttarakhand and Ludhiana in Punjab respectively.
They were caught with the skins near Dehradun Bus Stand.
The WCCB carried out the operation jointly with the Uttarakhand Special Task Force Team, as part of the special drive against the poachers of mega fauna like tigers, leopards and rhinoceros in the country. The skins were reported to be old.
Recently, the WCCB helped in the seizure of about 20 kg of tiger bones and several traps from Gurgaon.
