Vice-President greets people on Rakshabandhan

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Vice-President Hamid Ansari has greeted the people of the country on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

In his message today, he said the festival promotes the feelings of peaceful co-existence and harmonious social life by reaffirming people's faith in the traditional values of love and protection.

Mr Ansari said Rakshabandhan is celebrated all over the country by sissters tying Rakhis around the wrists of their brothers, thus strengthening the fraternal bonds of affection between brothers and sisters.

''Let us imbibe the ideals associated with this festival to foster the spirit of amity, harmony and goodwill in our lives,'' he said.
