Six killed, two injured in road accident

Rajkot, Aug 14 (UNI) Six people, including three women, were killed and two others injured when a car in which they were travelling plunged into a nullah near Kagdadi village, about 40 kms from here on Rajkot-Morbi Highway today.

According to the police, the occupants of the ill-fated car were going to Biliya village near Morbi from here to attend a condolence meeting when the front tyre of the car burst and the vehicle plunged into the nullah.

Three persons died on the spot while three others breathed their last in the civil hospital here, the police said.

The remaining two seriously injured persons are undergoing treatment at the Rajkot civil hospital, police said.

Those killed in the accident have been identified as driver of the car, Ashwin Shantilal Humbal (42), Osmankhan Ahmedkhan Pathan (42), Salim Bachubhai (50), Havaben Rajaqbhai (58), Ayeshaben Ahmedkhan Pathan (65) and Hamidaben Abdul Pathan, police said.
