Sikkim, Puducherry to get Rs 115 cr for flood relief
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Centre today approved additional assistance of Rs 115.71 crore for Sikkim and Puducherry for building infrastructure damaged during 2005 floods.
The Central grant component will be Rs 84.87 crore and loan component Rs 30.84 crore during 2008-09, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said after the Union Cabinet cleared the proposal.
''This will enable the Governments of Sikkim and Puduchery to undertake long-term reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure,'' he told reporters.
