RBI to transfer Rs 15,011 cr to Govt
Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India's Central board today said it will transfer the surplus profit of Rs 15,011 crore to the Union Government.
The Board, at its meeting here, approved the transfer of surplus profit to the Government of India amounting to Rs. 15,011 crore for the year ended June 30, 2008, RBI said in a statement.
Last year, the apex bank had transferred Rs 45,719 crore as surplus to the Government of India which included Rs 34,308.60 crore on account of profit on sale of SBI shares held by the RBI, it added.
