PM to unfurl tricolour at Red Fort on 62nd I-day
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) To celebrate the 62nd Independence Day tomorrow, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will unfurl the national flag at the ramparts of the Red Fort.
The unfurling of the tricolour will synchronize with the 21 gun salute by the gunners of the 299 field regiment. The battery will be commanded by Lt Col Manu Mohan, whereas Subedar Maha Singh will be the gun position officer.
After unfurling the flag the Prime Minister will address the nation. The school children along with the NCC cadets will sing the natinal anthem.
On arrival at Lahori Gate of the fort, Dr Singh would be received by Defence Minister A K Antony, Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju, Minisyer of State for Defence Production Rao Inderjit Singh and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh.
