India asks OIC not to comment on J and K
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) A day after slamming Pakistan for interfering in its internal affairs, India today rejected the comments by the Organisation of Islamic Comference (OIC) on Jammu and Kashmir and said the OIC had no locus standi on such issues.
External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said the OIC had once again chosen to comment upon Jammu and Kashmir and India's internal affairs on which the Organisation has no locus standi.
''We note with regret the statement made by the OIC Secretary General on the situation in the Indian state of Jammu&Kashmir.
OIC has once again chosen to comment upon Jammu and Kashmir and India's internal affairs on which it has no locus standi. We reject such comments,'' Mr Sarna said in response to a question.
OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu had condemned ''the ongoing excessive and unwarranted use of force against Kashmiri people'' and urged the Indian government to end the violence in the interest of sustaining the India-Pakistan peace process.
